Alert SA upgrade

The enhanced version of the Alert SA App is now available from your app store. The new version provides information about rural and urban fires, hazardous materials, floods, severe weather, heatwaves, and fire danger ratings. Watch their new advertising campaign.

Users can access important websites, phone numbers, and key ABC radio frequencies. They can also add up to 10 Watch Zones and personalise which incidents they are notified of, while receiving all Warnings issued within their Watch Zone.

This app is a useful tool for SAPOL members and can be downloaded on SAPOL devices.

It is important to note that the enhanced application will only be available for download on devices running iOS 16 or above and Android 13 or above. Users running iOS 15 or below or Android 12 or below can continue using the existing ‘bushfires only’ version of Alert SA; provided it has already been installed on their devices, it will not be available for installation.

For those with Alert SA also downloaded who can’t see the update the following tips may assist.

Apple: If your device hasn't updated automatically, you can visit the App Store and complete the update manually.
Android: If your device hasn't updated yet, check your app store. An update may be available, but Google controls the release tightly, so your device may not be eligible until Thursday morning.
If you don't have the app yet, you can download it now from the App Store for Apple devices or from the Google Play store for Android devices.
