Kingston SE's scam forum in Robe

Kingston SE Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) and Limestone Coast Police recently hosted a scam awareness forum for seniors in Robe. This was their second successful event, following one in Kingston SE earlier this year.

The forum aimed to educate seniors about scams and provide them with resources to recognise and prevent scams effectively.

Senior Constable Deb spoke to more than 45 attendees about common types of scams, offering advice on how to spot and prevent them. Attendees were encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences.

Constable Deb believes scam awareness forums are an important tool in addressing scams.  “We want to empower people to question who they’re actually dealing with,” she said “It’s important to raise awareness about different types of scams and provide people with the knowledge and information they need to spot a scam and protect themselves from scammers.”

Attendees could take home resources on scam prevention and online safety.
