National Secure Your Home Day is an initiative of Neighbourhood Watch Australasia which focuses on enhancing home security across Australia. Coinciding with Secure September, it offers the perfect opportunity to review and improve your home’s security.

Home break-ins and thefts have been on the rise in Australia. In the past year approximately 2% of all homes across the country experienced break-ins, with a further 2% of homes reporting attempted break-ins. There was also an increase in motor vehicle theft due to car keys being stolen from homes.

National Secure Your Home Day serves as a reminder to secure our homes and make a conscious effort to create a safer and more resilient community. Implementing practical measures such as the security tips below can significantly improve your home’s security and lower your chances of being a victim of a break-in.
