On Sunday 16 October, the NHW Southern Community Showcase took place at Wilfred Taylor Reserve in Morphett Vale. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining and all attendees in high spirits.
Organised by Reynella NHW group, the event provided local organisations with an opportunity to meet with the community in a relaxed setting.
Over 40 local organisations took part in the event, and each were given their own stall area to promote the incredible work they do. The occasion also gave them a chance to network with other organisations, swapping ideas and learning from one another.
Community members attended the event, walking through the reserve, meeting local organisations and taking in some of the wonderful live performances.
The Hot Gospel Groove Choir performed several pieces which brought in quite a crowd, the Air Force Cadets showed attendees some of the training they go through, and the Noarlunga & Districts Junior Soccer Association played an exciting mini match. The SA Police dog unit were also in attendance, giving community members a chance to meet the dogs and ask questions.
The event was a perfect example of what NHW groups do to help build a safe and connected community.
A huge thank you to Dianne Harvey and her Reynella NHW group for their efforts in making the day a huge success.
