Barossa man arrested by JACET

26 Feb 2025 8:48am

Investigators from SA JACET, a partnership between SA Police Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police, arrested a man yesterday for child exploitation offences.

A 49-year-old man from the Barossa was arrested for communicating with the intention of procuring a child for sexual activity after engaging online with an undercover officer from JACET. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

Detective Chief Inspector George Fenwick said, “this matter demonstrated the realities of child sexual exploitation on the internet and that the need for proactive measures is critical for addressing crimes against our children. Offenders who are prepared to troll the internet seeking opportunities to harm children will be caught."

“I am extremely proud of our investigators who work in this stressful environment with their unwavering dedication to identify these offenders and stop child abuse before it happens.”

Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
