A man has been arrested after driving a stolen car at Bethel.

It will be alleged that on Friday 30 August, a 41-year-old man from Bright was located by Nuriootpa Police at Bethel driving a stolen Ford ranger with unassigned plates.

Investigations revealed that this vehicle was stolen from a break-in at Saddleworth in March this year.

The man was also flagged as a suspect for a break-in at Steinfeld in December 2023. The man was arrested and charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass and illegal use of a motor vehicle.

On Monday 2 September, police searched the man’s house in Bright and located a large amount of stolen items from a break-in at Templers and the above two locations.

The stolen items included a trailer, a ride-on lawnmower, two motorbikes, a large amount of saddlery, power tools, antiques, an air compressor and generators, all of which have been identified by the victims.

A third motorbike, a white Honda CRF110F is suspected to be stolen and enquiries are ongoing.

Police also located six cannabis plants in the rear yard growing naturally.

The man was refused bail and remanded in custody.

Investigations are still ongoing and anyone with information about break-ins in the above areas is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
