Drink drivers reported after crashes

Police detected two drink drivers after separate collisions on Port Wakefield Highway on Saturday.

About 5.45pm on Saturday 29 June, police received reports of that a vehicle driving recklessly on Port Wakefield Highway, Two Wells had been involved in a minor vehicle collision.

The driver, a 22-year-old Glenelg North woman, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.135.  She was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

About 10pm on Saturday, police responded to a collision on Port Wakefield Highway, Buckland Park after a car hit a barrier.

The driver, a 48-year-old Elizabeth North man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.170.  He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle, which was extensively damaged in the crash, was towed from the scene.

Both drivers were reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
