A speeding drink driver was caught at Sandy Creek last night.
About 8.30pm Saturday 1 March, a police motorcycle officer was conducting speed detection duties on Balmoral Road when the clocked a Mazda CX5 travelling at 91km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Police stopped the car and spoke to the driver, a 38-year-old Springton man. Police submitted the man to a breath test; he allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.141. Of great concern to police was that there were two young children in the car at the time of the offence.
The man was reported for speeding and drink driving. he lost his licence on the spot for six months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
