Update - Arrest after man assaulted after theft from shop in Gawler

Just before 8am on 15 March a man has entered a business on Murray Street and stole items and left the store.

When challenged by the shop owner the suspect assaulted the owner and threw a chair at him.

Luckily the owner was not injured.

Following investigations today (Wednesday 19 March) police arrested a 50-year-old man form Adelaide. 
He has been charged with assault and theft.

He has been bailed to attend at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 7 May.
