Tanunda man arrested over Barossa break-ins

Police have arrested a man over a number of recent break-ins in the Barossa region.

On 4 June, police arrested a 35-year-old Tanunda man after he allegedly broke into a home at Tanunda while the occupants were home. The man then stole the occupant’s car which was later recovered in a car park at Burings Road, Tanunda.

The man was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft, illegal use of a motor vehicle and property damage. He was bailed to appear in the Tanunda Magistrates Court on 23 July.

When police recovered the stolen vehicle, they located an amount of property which was not the victims.

Barossa Police commenced a further investigation into the property seized from the vehicle and as a result, the same man was arrested on Saturday 15 June.

Detectives were able to link the man to a number of other break-ins and thefts involving businesses and homes in Tanunda.

The 35-year-old man was charged with serious criminal trespass (residential), non-residential serious criminal trespass, three counts of theft and being unlawfully on premises.

The man was bailed to appear in the Tanunda Magistrates Court on 23 July.
