Two reported over firearm offences

It will be alleged that just after 3pm on Monday 17 February, police were called to a fast food restaurant on Sherriffs Road, Morphett Vale after receiving reports of an altercation involving an older man and a younger man and woman.

All three people were asked to leave the premises. Upon leaving, the woman got into a small red hatchback, reached down and appeared to be holding a firearm. No threats were made to anyone and the vehicle drove off a short time later.

Following an investigation by Southern District CIB, information was received that the vehicle was at an address in Nuriootpa.

Local patrols attended and conducted a search of a vehicle, locating a BB gun.

A 20-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man both of Nuriootpa were reported for firearm offences. Both will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
