Bins set alight in CBD

Police and fire crews were called to Grenfell Street just after 1am on Friday 17 January after reports of a bin fire.

When officers arrived, they discovered six bins had been set alight at different points along Grenfell Street. They also found minor damage had been caused to a parked vehicle.

With the assistance of police security officers, CCTV was used to track the suspect to Kintore Avenue where he was arrested by patrols.

A 29-year-old man from Adelaide has been charged with seven counts of property damage and refusing name and address. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
