Break-in and pursuit at Vale Park

Police are investigating a break-in on a Vale Park home early this morning.

Just before 3am on Monday 1 July, police were called to a home at Vale Park after a victim reported hearing people inside her home.

The suspects stole property from inside and left in a red Toyota Tarago.

About 10 minutes later an Eastern District patrol spotted the Tarago on Fyfe Street at Vale Park and followed the car for a short time, however lost sight of it travelling at speed on Ascot Avenue.

Not long after the car was seen on Nottage Terrace at Medindie and police engaged in a short pursuit through the back streets.

About 3.15am the Tarago collided with a member of the public’s car on College Avenue at Prospect.  The vehicle was located dumped at the intersection of College Avenue and St Peters Place shortly after.

Dog Operations were called in assist with tracking the suspects and a man was located on Churchill Road and was swiftly arrested.  A 24-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested for unrelated matters.
