Update - Teen arrested over Modbury car robbery

19 Oct 2024 5:48pm

Police have arrested a man and are searching for a second following a robbery at Modbury early Friday morning.

About 12.07am today (Friday 18 October), police were called to a shopping centre car park on North East Road after a man and woman were threatened by two men who demanded the keys to their Mercedes Benz sedan.

One of the suspects was armed with a knife.

The victim gave the men his keys and they attempted to start his vehicle. When the victim tried to get his keys back, he was assaulted by the suspects and the pair drove off in the car.

The victim received minor injuries and was treated at hospital. The woman was not injured.

The stolen Mercedes was found abandoned later that morning in Para Hills.

As a result of investigations, police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Windsor Gardens over the incident. He has been charged with aggravated robbery and illegal use of a motor vehicle and did not apply for bail. He will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday.

Investigations continue regarding the second suspect.
