Driver's lucky escape at Vale Park

Just before 9.30pm on Sunday 16 June, emergency services were called to Ascot Avenue after a car crashed through the barrier of the linear park overpass bridge. The Mitsubishi sedan went over the edge, dropping about five metres and landing on its roof.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Hendon, thankfully walked away with only minor injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
