Early morning drink driving

23 Jul 2024 7:01am

A high range drink driver was caught at Dernancourt this morning.

Just after 2am Tuesday 23 July Holden Hill patrols spotted a blue BMW travelling along Lower North East Road and decided to pull the car over for a random breath test.

Police stopped the car and spoke to the driver, a 49-year-old Hectorville man, before submitting him to a breath test. He allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.240 – almost five times the limit.

He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for 12 months. His car was impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
