ID sought in the CBD

20 Feb 2025 9:17pm

Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect allegedly involved in a city robbery last year.

About 8.30pm on 17 October 2024, a man entered a supermarket on Gilbert Street in the city, he approached a staff member and threatened her with a pair of pliers, telling her to open the cash till.  The victim opened the till, the suspect stole an amount of cash and ran from the store.

The man was captured on CCTV and his image has been released in a bid to identify him.  He is described as approximately 177cm tall, with a short beard.  He was wearing a light-coloured hooded jumper, a blue sleeveless hooded zip up long coat (down to his knees), dark pants and black sneakers.

Anyone who recognises the pictured man or can assist with the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.  You can anonymously provide information to Crime Stoppers online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au or free call 1800 333 000.
