Man arrested for break-in in the CBD

A man has been arrested after he was caught breaking into a business in the CBD last night.

Just after 10.30pm on Monday 28 April, police received a report of a man smashing the window to a restaurant on Pulteney Street.

Police were quickly on scene and located a man inside the premises, where he was arrested.

Following enquires the suspect is believed responsible for further break-ins to businesses in the city in recent days on Union Street, Twin Street, Rundle Street and East Terrace.

The 19-year-old man from Adelaide has been charged with serious criminal trespass and unlawful possession.

He is expected to face further charges relating to the earlier break-ins.

He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 29 April).
