04 Jul 2024 2:27pm

A man has been arrested over a number of thefts from a CBD department store.

Just after 1.30pm on Friday 28 June, police from Eastern Operation Measure attended a business in Rundle Mall after loss prevention officers had stopped a man who had allegedly stolen items from the store.

This man was believed to have committed multiple thefts from the same store within recent weeks.

On this occasion, the man is alleged to have placed clothing valued at $2890 in an empty pram and concealed the clothing with a blanket.

Further checks showed the man had been wanted over multiple thefts since January involving high end clothing, electronics and groceries totalling approximately $15,000.

A 35-year-old man from no fixed address was charged with nine counts of theft and one count of deception. He was refused bail and appeared in court on Monday.
