Two drivers have been caught drink driving in the same car in the CBD overnight.
Just before 12am this morning, police were on Morphett Street in Adelaide when their attention was drawn to a vehicle travelling towards them without headlights.
Patrols stopped the Mazda sedan on Morphett Street and had a conversation with the driver who was submitted to a breath test and returned a positive result of 0.201, four times the limit.
Patrols also observed the vehicle had a smashed windscreen and further checks revealed the driver, a 43-year-old Hope Valley woman was driving without a licence.
She was reported for driving without a licence and drink driving. The vehicle was also defected for the smashed windscreen.
Less than two hours later, patrols were on Hindley Street when they observed a grey Mazda sedan travelling on the wrong side of Morphett Street with no lights on.
Patrols stopped the Mazda on Hindley Street and observed a defect notice attached to the smashed windscreen of the same vehicle that was stopped on Morphett Street. Checks revealed this was the same vehicle stopped on Morphett Street.
The driver a 36-year-old woman from Northern Territory, was submitted to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result, however she refused to comply with the breath analysis test.
She was reported for drink driving, driving a defected vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving at night without lights. The Mazda was impounded.
The pair will be summonsed to appear in the Magistrates Court at a later date.
