Police search for breakers

About 2.30am Thursday 19 December police were called to a jewellery store on North East Road after an alarm activation.

When patrols arrived, they located a large amount of damage to the front door of the building, however the business’ security was too good and the would-be-thieves were unable to gain access to the inside of the premises. Even if they did the jewellery was stored securely, so it was a lot of damage for no reason!

PD Rusty conducted a search of the area picking up a track heading east along Fuller Street where he located an empty backpack in the garden of a church. However, the suspects were not located at this time.

Excellent CCTV footage from the business shows three masked men attempting to smash their way into the premises before leaving empty handed.
