Quick police response leads to man's arrest in CBD

About 12.30pm today (18 December) police responded to reports of a theft and assault at a King William Street convenience store.

Staff advised that a group of three men had entered the store and stolen some items including scissors before leaving the store.

A short time later, one of the men has returned armed with the scissors and threatened the staff before taking some soft drinks

Fortunately, nobody was physically injured.

Police were quickly on scene and located the suspect a 17-year-old boy from Seaton nearby. He was arrested without incident and has been charged with two counts of theft and aggravated assault. The scissors have since been recovered.

Police are aware of the other suspects identities and are making further investigations relating to their involvement.
