Man arrested for acts likely to cause harm

19 Oct 2024 10:39am

An Aldinga Beach man will face court after a crossbow was fired during an incident at Aldinga Beach.

Police will allege that between 2.45 and 3.30pm on Thursday 17 October, there was an altercation at Aldinga Beach between the suspect and the occupants of a silver-coloured Mazda 3 hatchback.

Police will further allege the man fired an arrow from a high-powered crossbow that struck and penetrated the door of a nearby home not involved in the incident. Fortunately, occupants in the home were not injured.

Police do not believe the incident is random and wish to speak to the occupants of the Mazda 3.

The Aldinga Beach man was charged on Friday 18 October with acts likely to cause harm and being in possession of a crossbow and machete which are prohibited weapons. He was granted bail by a magistrate and will appear in court at a later date.

Anyone with information relating to the incident, including the vehicle and people involved, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au or free call 1800 333 000. You can remain anonymous.
