Robbery suspect caught at Edwardstown

28 Aug 2024 7:02am

Quick work by police has led to the arrest of a robbery suspect at Edwardstown.

It will be alleged that just after 4pm today (Tuesday 27 August), police were called to the drive-through bottle shop area of a hotel at the Castle Plaza shopping centre after reports that a man had stolen a carton of beer.

He threatened staff members with a knife before fleeing the scene, running away in a northerly direction.

No one was injured.

Patrols searched the area and located the suspect at a house nearby just over an hour after the robbery.

The 23-year-old man from Paralowie was charged with aggravated robbery.

He was refused bail and will appear in court on Wednesday.
