Update: Arrest after southern suburbs house fire

A man has been arrested following a house fire at Plympton Park this morning.

Just before 7am on Friday 6 September, police and emergency services were called to Aldridge Avenue after reports of smoke coming from the roof of a house.

On arrival the house was fully engulfed in flames and MFS crews were battling the blaze.

The occupants were not home at the time however, the fire completely destroyed the property.

Fire cause investigators and Detectives attended the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Following an investigation, Southern District Detectives arrested a 39-year-old man from Plympton Park.  He has been charged with arson and will likely be refused police bail to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 9 September.
