Two drivers under the influence at Ingle Farm

11 Feb 2025 6:46am

Traffic officers detected two drivers allegedly under the influence just a minute apart at Ingle Farm last night.

Just before 8.30pm on Monday 10 February, a traffic officer pulled over a vehicle on Beovich Road, Ingle Farm for a mobile driver test.

The driver, a 52-year-old Valley View man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.092, nearly twice the legal limit.

He was reported for drink driving and his vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Just a minute later, another traffic officer approached a vehicle in the car park of the Ingle Farm Shopping Centre.  The driver, a 26-year-old Modbury North man, allegedly tested positive for cannabis.

Police checks also revealed he held an expired learner’s permit.

The sample was sent for forensic analysis.
