Woman assaulted at Gilberton

A woman had her handbag stolen on Northcote Terrace this morning.

About 5am this morning (Saturday 14 December) the victim was walking north along Northcote Terrace near the Buckingham Arms Hotel when the driver of a white Audi, parked on the western side of the road, exited the vehicle and approached the victim.

The suspect was armed with a golf club and demanded the victim’s handbag before striking her on the arm and stealing the handbag.

The suspect then drove away in a northerly direction on Northcote Terrace.

The vehicle is believed to be a stolen 2017 white Audi A6 sedan, South Australian registration number, S958CFM.

The suspect is described as being aged in his late teen to early 20’s, he was approximately 175cm tall with a skinny build and blue eyes.

A passenger in the vehicle was wearing a mask and appeared to be approximately 11 years old.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Walkerville, was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
