Abandoned building fire at Whyalla Playford

About 2pm on Friday 13 September, police and MFS crews were called to a fire on Billing Street after smoke was seen coming from an abandoned building.

Fire crews were quick to control the blaze, and damage was contained to two rooms.

Police believe the fire was deliberately lit and are asking if anyone saw any suspicious activity in the area or has information that may assist with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
