Boy arrested for grass fire at Port Lincoln

A boy has been reported after allegedly starting a fire at Port Lincoln yesterday.

About 5.30pm on Tuesday 29 October, police and fire crews were called to Lincoln Gardens Reserve after reports of a grass fire.

Firefighters extinguished the fire but the area the size of two basketball courts was damaged.

Luckily no one was injured and no other property was damaged.

Following an investigation, Port Lincoln police reported a 12-year-old local boy for arson and will be dealt with through the juvenile justice system.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour is asked to call police emergency at the time on 000.
