Car leaves Lincoln Highway at Tiatukia

20 Jun 2024 3:28pm

A car crashed into a tree on the Lincoln Highway at Tiatukia this morning.

Emergency services were called to the Lincoln Highway at Tiatukia about 8.30am on Thursday 20 June after a car towing a trailer lost control, left the road and crashed into a tree.

The car had been towing another vehicle, a station wagon, on a car trailer, which was poorly loaded and contributed to the collision.

Fortunately, neither the driver, a 33-year-old Grange man, nor his passenger, a 41-year-old Osborne woman, were injured in the crash.

The driver, whose licence had expired, allegedly tested positive to methamphetamine and cannabis.  The sample was sent for forensic analysis.

The driver was also issued with an expiation notice for driving unlicensed, fail to maintain effective control and insecure load.
