Drink drivers stopped at Port Lincoln

Port Lincoln police have reported two drivers after they were caught drink driving over the weekend.

About 7pm on Saturday 12 April, Police set up a driver testing station on the Lincoln Highway at Port Lincoln. One of the drivers stopped, a 41-year-old man from Clarence Gardens, allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.071. He was issued with an expiation notice for exceeding the prescribed limit and issued with a driver direction notice not to drive for eight hours.

About 4.45pm on Sunday 13 April, Police stopped a Toyota 4WD on Hallett Place and submitted the driver to a breath test. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.115.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Port Lincoln, was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
