Driver arrested for dangerous driving down one-way street

25 Mar 2025 3:09pm

A woman has lost her licence after allegedly driving erratically at Port Lincoln on the weekend.

It will be alleged the woman was spotted driving a vehicle the wrong way down Washington Street, Port Lincoln, a one-way street about 8.30pm on Sunday 23 March.

A police officer had to quickly move to avoid being struck by the car, and another driver had to swerve to avoid a collision.

The woman was honking her horn and had young children in the car at the time.

Following inquiries, police yesterday (Monday 24 March) arrested a 43-year-old Port Lincoln woman and charged her with dangerous driving.  She was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and bailed to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on 17 July.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has dashcam or CCTV of the vehicle is asked to contact Port Lincoln Police on 8688 3020.
