Four people have been arrested in a stolen car at Tumby Bay following an early morning crime spree.
About 10am on Sunday 16 February, a vehicle was reported acting suspiciously on Panoramic Drive, Boston. The vehicle involved was believed to be a white 2015 Toyota Landcruiser stolen from a Port Lincoln home early this morning.
The Landcruiser was also involved in a petrol drive off about 5.30am at Port Lincoln.
Eyre Western patrols commenced a search of the area and the Landcruiser was spotted on the Tod Highway heading north towards Cummins about 11.45am. The vehicle was lost sight of but was seen again on Bratten Way heading towards Tumby Bay.
Police were able to spike the car’s tyres about 5km west of the Lincoln Highway but it continued driving. It then stopped near the silo’s where four people ran off and allegedly gained entry to a home on Bratten Road while the occupant was home.
Eyre Western patrols responded and were able to able to arrest all four.
Police believe that the four arrested are also linked to other crimes in Port Lincon including a house break-in, a business break-in and an interference of a motor vehicle.
The four arrested are, two 32-year-old men from Port Lincoln, a 34-year-old man from Port Lincoln and a 31-year-old man from Ceduna. All four have been refused police bail and will appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court tomorrow.
