Man arrested in possession of knife

A man was arrested yesterday after being found in possession of a knife in Port Lincoln.

About 1pm on Monday 31 March, members of the public reported seeing a man walking on Tasman Terrace in Port Lincoln in possession of a knife.  Patrols searched the area however he was not located.

About 6.45pm on the same evening a further report was made to police advising a man was seen on the foreshore in possession of a knife.

Police located the man a short time later, the knife was seized, and he was arrested without incident.  A 34-year-old local man was charged with carrying an offensive weapon.  He was further charged with outstanding matters.  He was granted police bail to appear in Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on 17 July.
