Pursuits with a stolen car

Police are investigating after a car was stolen from Whyalla late last month and continues to evade police.

Sometime between 7pm on Tuesday 26 November and 11.40am on Wednesday 27 November, a red Holden Cruze was stolen from McDouall Stuart Avenue in Whyalla Stuart.

About 6.30am on Tuesday 3 December, police spotted the stolen vehicle being driven on Cudmore Terrace in Whyalla bearing false front registration plates WNU687 and rear registration plates UPV395.

Patrols attempted to stop the vehicle however it took off at speed.  There was a short pursuit before the stolen car crossed over onto the wrong side of the road and police ceased following it.

Just before 4.30am on Thursday 5 December, the red Holden Cruze was seen travelling on Norrie Avenue at Whyalla Playford and upon spotting police the driver turned its lights off and took off at speed in an attempted to avoid Police.

Police followed the vehicle and made attempts to stop it however the driver refused to pull over resulting in a pursuit.

The car was last seen at the roundabout on Jenkins Avenue and McDouall Stuart Avenue.
