Speeding drunk driver caught at Coffin Bay

A speeding driver has been reported for drink driving at Coffin Bay on Friday.

Police stopped a Jeep on the Esplanade about 4.50pm on Friday 29 November after it was detected travelling at 85km/h in a 50km/h speed zone. The driver was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.112.

A 57-year-old man from Maitland was reported for drink driving and exceeding the speed limit. He was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
