Driver arrested at Port Augusta

A man has been arrested following a traffic stop at Port Augusta on Thursday.

Just before 1pm on Thursday 11 July, police stopped a Toyota SUV on Flinders Terrace.

When police spoke with the driver, he refused to produce his driver’s license and failed to give his personal particulars when requested.

The man started to walk away despite several directions to remain at the scene and then started running. He was quickly arrested on Commercial Road.

A 34-eyar-old man from Port Augusta was arrested and charged with a number of traffic offences driving unlicenced and hindering police. His car was impounded and he was bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on 12 August.
