Drivers caught speeding in Arcoona

Two drivers have been clocked speeding in the States Far North earlier this week.

On Tuesday 23 July, Woomers police were conducting speed detection duties on the Olympic Dam Highway at Arcoona.

Just before 3.50 pm, a motorcycle was detected travelling at 171km/h in a 110k/m zone. Police stopped the driver, a 28-year- old man from Risdon Park. He was issued 6 month loss of licence and issued an expiation notice for excessive speed. A short time later, the same motorcycle was clocked travelling 130km/h in a 110km/h zone, on the same road. He was again stopped by police and issued an additional expiation notice.

About 4pm on the same day (Tuesday 23 July) a vehicle was clocked traveling at 143km/h in the 110km/h zone. Police spoke with the driver, a 28-year-old man from Queensland. He was issued an expiation notice for exceeding the speed limit.
