Mimili incident

Police are investigating a car fire and an alleged assault in the Far North yesterday.

About 12.15pm on Thursday 20 June, emergency services were called to a house in Mimili after reports of a car on fire.

CFS crews arrived on scene and were met by the resident and owner of the car, a 38-year-old man, who allegedly behaved in an aggressive manner towards the CFS member, whilst in possession of a pair of scissors.

A CFS member, a 63-year-old local man, allegedly punched the resident resulting in facial injuries.

The injured party was flown to Alice Springs Hospital where he was treated.
