Port Augusta altercation

Six people will face court following an affray in Port Augusta last week.

About 8.40pm Thursday 14 November a group of people were allegedly involved in an altercation using weapons on Victoria Parade. Local police patrols attended the scene however the group had dispersed.

As a result of an investigation six people from Port Augusta including, a 13-year-old boy, 14-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy, 16-year-old girl, 31-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested and charged with aggravated affray.

The 31-year-old woman was additionally charged with driving offences after allegedly driving in a reckless manner nearby. Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days, and she received a 12 month instant loss of licence.

The juveniles were bailed to appear at the Port Augusta Youth Court on 29 January.

The adults were bailed to appear at the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on 6 January.
