A man has lost his licence for a year after he was caught drink-driving at Port Augusta.

It will be alleged that about 9.50pm on Sunday 18 August, a patrol was driving along the Wharflands Esplanade when a silver Nissan Pulsar sedan nearly collided with the police car.

Officers stopped the car soon after and the driver underwent a breath test, returning a positive reading of 0.198.

The driver, a 30-year-old local man was reported for drink-driving and driving without due care. He was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
