Quorn police have arrested a man following a traffic stop in the far north yesterday.
About 3.15pm on Sunday 6 April, Quorn Police were conducting mobile speed detection duties on the Flinders Ranges Way at Kanyaka when they detected a Subaru sedan travelling at 134km/h in a 110km/h speed zone.
Police stopped the vehicle and conducted checks on the driver which revealed that he had a disqualified licence.
A search of the man and his vehicle uncovered approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine and an ice pipe.
A 36-year-old man from Clovelly Park was charged with excessive speed and driving disqualified. He was also reported for possession of a controlled drug and possession of equipment. He was bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on 2 June.
Quorn Police remind motorists that speeding is a significant contributor to fatal and serious injury crashes. People visiting the Flinders Ranges or travelling through remote regions are urged to slow down, remain alert and take regular rest stops to ensure they get to their destination safely.
