Speeding driver stopped in Coober Pedy

At 5.45pm on Wednesday 5 March witnesses reported a Toyota sedan travelling at speed on Sturt Highway.

Police attended in the area and detected the Toyota travelling 173 km/h in a 110 km/h speed zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver a 28-year-old man from Newton was reported for exceed speed and issued a six-month instant loss of licence.

The man will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.
