Update III - Man arrested for murder at Mount Gambier

Just after 1pm on Wednesday 5 February, police were called to a home on Pick Avenue after a person was seen collapsed at the property.

Police entered the home and discovered the occupant, a 55-year-old woman, deceased inside.

Today, Thursday 6 February, Detectives from Major Crime Investigation Branch, with the assistance of Victoria Police arrested a 53-year-old man from Mount Gambier in Portland, Victoria.

**UPDATE: The man is expected to  appear in the Warnambool Magistrates Court this afternoon (Friday 7 February), where South Australia Police will seek his extradition to South Australia.

He is expected to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday 10 February charged with murder.

Detectives believe that the man and woman are known to each other.
