A driver was arrested at Enfield after a police pursuit in the northern suburbs in the early hours of this morning.
Just after 3.30am on Friday 29 November, a black Volkswagen Golf took off from police on Curtis Road, MacDonald Park.
Police immediately terminated the pursuit; however the vehicle was able to be monitored by traffic cameras and sightings by other patrols as it headed south on Main North Road.
Police successfully spiked the car's tyres in Pooraka just before the vehicle was approaching Gepps Cross intersection.
The Volkswagen was abandoned near Grand Junction Road and the driver ran into a nearby car dealership.
Patrols quickly located him hiding among the cars and he was arrested.
The 35-year-old Mount Barker man was charged with fail to stop, drive disqualified, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit and drive under the influence. He was also wanted for an outstanding warrant.
He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
Officers also found an orange bag that the man allegedly threw away containing a small quantity of drugs and he will be given a drug diversion.
