Update: Woman arrested after fatal crash at Copley

A woman has been arrested after a fatal crash at Copley in the State’s far north.

It will be alleged that about 6.30am today (Sunday 22 December), police and emergency services were called to Harris Street after reports that a pedestrian had been hit by an Isuzu ute.

The pedestrian, a 50-year-old Whyalla Stuart woman died at the scene.

The ute then left the scene.

The driver of the ute, a 23-year-old woman was later located and arrested.

She will face charges of cause death by careless driving and leaving the scene after causing death.

The womans death is the 84th life lost on South Australian Roads this year.
