Man arrested over fatal crash at Hindmarsh

A man has died after a crash at Hindmarsh.

About 3.50pm on Tuesday 7 January, police and emergency services were called to South Road, Hindmarsh, near the entrance to the North-South Motorway, after a collision involving a car and motorcycle.

A white Holden Commodore travelling south crashed through fencing on the median strip and collided with a black Suzuki motorcycle and two other vehicles.

Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a 58-year-old Golden Grove man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Commodore, a 44-year-old Park Holme man, was arrested by Major Crash officers and charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 19 March.

South Road was closed in both directions for most of the evening has since been reopened.

The man’s death is the second life lost on SA roads this year.
