Road reopened after Mallala crash

The road has reopened after a serious crash at Mallala this morning.

A car left the road and hit a tree on Mallala Road, Mallala at 5.30am on Saturday 16 November.

The 34-year-old driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Adelaide for treatment.  His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

The Adelaide to Mallala Road was closed in both directions for two hours while emergency services cleared the debris from the road and attended to the injured driver.

The road partially reopened from 7am and the crews managed to get both lanes opened about 7.30am.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
