Fatal crash at Queenstown

Police are investigating a fatal crash at Queenstown last night.

Just after 9.30pm on Saturday 16 November, police and emergency services were called to Port Road, Queenstown, near Brougham Place, after reports that a person had been hit by a car.

Sadly, the pedestrian, a 71-year-old Queenstown woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Mitsubishi ute, a 34-year-old North Haven man, was not physically injured in the crash.

Major Crash investigators attended and examined the scene overnight.

The ute was towed from the scene for forensic examination.

The road reopened about 1am.
