Update: Fatal crash South-East

A man has been arrested following a fatal crash in the states South-East yesterday (Tuesday 12 November).

About 11.50am, Tuesday 12 November, emergency services were called to the Dukes Highway at Brimbago after a van collided with a cyclist.

The cyclist, a 43-year-old man from Victoria, sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the van, a 43-year-old from Naracoorte, was not injured in the crash.

Following an investigation, the driver was arrested by Major Crash Investigators today (Wednesday 13 November) and charged with cause death by careless driving and issued an immediate loss of licence. He was bailed to appear in Naracoorte Magistrates Court on 15 January.

Dukes Highway was closed between Keith and Bordertown while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.

The man’s death is the 76th live lost on South Australian roads this year.
